1964 Fender Jaguar
For auction is a pre-CBS 1964 Fender Jaguar! This guitar is
amazing for its age and sounds out of this world. The frets have so much life
left and show no divots! It has the same pickups that were used in many strats
at the time and they produce amazing tones. This is a great way to get vintage
Fender wood and electronics for a third of the cost of a vintage strat. There
are no major dings on this guitar, just natural aging. As can be seen in the
photos, the finish on the headstock has begun to chip and looks so cool! Better
than any relic Fender piece you could find! Please check out the over 50 photos below.
The Jaguar is completely all original except for two
*It was refinished professionally about 10 years ago
*It has just received a new main volume pot as the original
died out. I will include the original pot in the auction; those handy with such
things may be able to coax it back to life. It was replaced with a correct
value 1 Meg audio pot.
Everything else about the guitar is original! It even
includes the original case! (It's quite beat up but at least the mojo is there)
The pot codes and neck stamp both date it to 1964.
Someone carved their name into the metal plate that bolts
the neck on, but the serial number is of course still visible L38639.
Please email me with any questions prior to bidding. International
bidders are fine as long as you pay the additional shipping cost, please
contact me to determine the amount BEFORE BIDDING. No reserve! The guitar is sold as is.
Only the body has been refinished; the neck and headstock finish are original as is the Fender decal! On Jan-17-12 at 15:00:16 PST, seller added the following information:
It's been brought to my attention that the bridge is a Mustang bridge and not the original Jaguar bridge. Apparently this was a common swap to make. I apologize for the mis-statement above. I am not very knowledgeable of vintage guitars.
Also, I forgot to mention that the case does not lock anymore. I will ship and pack carefully; everything will be well wrapped in bubble wrap.

I've had a lot of folks asking about what's under the pick guard. This guitar's electronics are ALL ORIGINAL save the volume pot which I replaced, as mentioned above. I am not comfortable removing the pick guard myself, but I have tried to take some quick shots of the control cavities.
